Cursor review: our take
Cursor is the pick for developers who want AI built into the editor: agents plan and edit across files, cloud agents keep working in the background, and Bugbot reviews pull requests. The free Hobby plan needs no card and gives limited Agent requests. Pro costs $20 a month, with Pro+ at $60 for daily agent use and Ultra at $200 for power users.
The limit is metering. Each plan includes a set amount of model usage, and work past it is billed on demand, so treat the plan price as the minimum you will spend. Privacy mode, which keeps code out of training, has to be switched on. For a terminal-first agent, see Claude Code and our Claude Code vs Cursor comparison. For the cheapest paid plan, GitHub Copilot Pro costs $10.

What Cursor does
Cursor is a code editor built around AI agents that plan and make changes across a codebase. Paid plans add extended Agent limits, frontier models, MCPs, skills and hooks, and cloud agents that keep working in the background, while Bugbot reviews pull requests on usage-based billing. Every plan includes a set amount of model usage, and on-demand usage is billed after it runs out.
