Claude prompt generator
The same short form, assembled the way Anthropic's documentation recommends for Claude: each part wrapped in its own XML tag.
This Claude prompt generator builds the prompt the way Anthropic's documentation recommends for complex requests: each part in its own XML tag. Anthropic says tags such as <instructions> and <context> help Claude parse a prompt that mixes instructions, context, examples and inputs, and advises keeping tag names consistent. The generator does that for you, in your browser.
Why XML tags for Claude
According to Anthropic's prompting guide, wrapping each type of content in its own tag reduces misinterpretation, especially when a prompt mixes instructions with the material to work on. The same guide wraps examples in <example> tags so Claude can tell them apart from instructions, and nests documents inside a <documents> tag.
The tag names are not magic words. What the guide asks for is consistent, descriptive names, which is why this tool always produces the same set: context, task, instructions, example and output_format. It also puts the context block before the task, in line with Anthropic's advice to place long documents above the question.
Tips for Claude
- Put long documents in Context and point to them in the task: "Using the contract in the context tags, list…".
- Add an example of the result. Anthropic calls examples one of the most reliable ways to steer format and tone, and suggests 3 to 5 for best results; the form takes one, and you can add more <example> blocks after you copy the prompt.

FAQ
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit, because the prompt is assembled by code in your browser rather than by a paid model.
Does it store what I type?
No. Nothing in the form leaves the page. The Open buttons pass the finished prompt to ChatGPT or Claude only when you click them.
Does an XML prompt work outside Claude?
Yes. OpenAI's prompting guide also suggests XML tags to mark where each part of a prompt begins and ends, so the same prompt can go into ChatGPT. For plain Markdown sections instead of tags, use the AI prompt generator. To choose between the models, see ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini.
