How the finder picks
Every tool in the AI tools catalog has a category, a price checked on the vendor's own pricing page, a note on whether there is a free plan, the platforms it runs on and a short «best for» line. The finder reads only that data. For each job you tick, it keeps the tools in the matching category that fit your budget and platform, and takes the one with the highest Prompt Hackers Score. If one tool already covers a second job, it is not added twice. A tool whose «best for» line names people in your role gets a small lift when two scores are close.
The same inputs always give the same picks. Nobody pays to appear in them.
What the budget means
- Free only: tools you can use on a free plan.
- Up to $20 a month: the picks together stay at or under $20 a month. A paid entry plan is used while it fits; after that a tool counts on its free plan, or is left out.
- No limit: each tool at its entry paid plan, as listed on its page here.
Tools that charge by usage or by quote are shown but not added to the total. Prices change, so check the vendor's pricing page before you buy.
What it does not do
The finder runs in your browser. Your answers are not sent to our server and not stored. If you use «Send to my email», only your address reaches us, to add you to the weekly email; the stack itself goes into a draft in your own mail app. It does not test tools on your work; it sorts what the catalog already holds. For the reasoning behind each tool, open its page from the results.
