Will ChatGPT invent experience I never had?
Not if you use the blocks as written. Job Ad Tailor is told to work only from the experience, tools and employers already in your document, and to list whatever the advertisement asks for that you cannot evidence rather than quietly adding it. Read the rewritten bullets anyway, and delete any number you could not defend in an interview.
Is the ATS Resume Scanner the same as a real applicant tracking system?
No. It reads your text the way parsing software does and reports what survives: the fields it could extract with confidence, the tables, columns and text inside images that break a parser, and the advertisement terms missing from your wording. Real systems vary from one employer to the next, so treat it as a check on format and vocabulary.
Should I paste plain text or upload my resume file?
Paste plain text, copied out of your own file, so you see what a machine sees. Two columns often come out interleaved and a name sitting in the page header can vanish entirely, which is itself a finding worth acting on. Put the job advertisement in the same message, because the comparison prompts need both halves in front of them.
I have one resume and six job ads. What order do I run these in?
