Gemini's image model edits the picture you upload rather than generating a new person, and every prompt here opens by telling it to leave the face, skin tone, hair and body exactly as they are. Likeness can still slip, most often around the eyes, teeth and jawline. Compare both images at full size and run it again if something has drifted.
What sort of photo should I upload?
One person, sharp, lit from the front, at the biggest size you have. A heavy filter or a dark phone snap limits what any edit can recover. Match the picture to the prompt as well: Collectible Desk Figurine needs the whole body in frame, and Old Family Photo Repair wants a flat scan of the print, not a shot of it taken at an angle.
Can I change one thing and leave the rest alone?
That is what most of these do. Will the passport photo be accepted by an official office?
