Google Gemini review: our take
Gemini is the cheapest way into a paid plan from a major AI lab: Google AI Plus costs $4.99 a month, doubles the free limits, adds video generation and comes with 400 GB of storage. The free plan is generous on features, with Deep Research, image editing and Gemini Live. AI Pro at $19.99 adds a 1 million-token context window, 1,000 Flow credits for video and 5 TB of storage, so it makes most sense if you already pay Google for space.
The limit to know is context on the free plan: 32,000 tokens, so very long files need a paid plan. Google publishes no message count; usage refreshes every five hours up to a weekly cap. What Google Gemini does
Gemini chats, writes, runs Deep Research, generates and edits images and talks back through Gemini Live. Paid Google AI plans raise usage limits and add Flow credits for video, a longer context window, Google app features and cloud storage.
