Canva review: our take
Canva is the quickest way for a small business to make its own social posts, flyers and slides without a designer. Templates handle most of the layout, and the AI tools sit in the same editor: Magic Write drafts copy, Canva AI makes images and short video clips, and Magic Layers turns a flat image into editable parts.
The free plan is usable, but it allows only 20 Standard or Premium AI uses a month. Pro costs $18 a month or $180 a year and raises that to 200 Premium or 20 Ultra uses, and Business, at $25 per person a month, doubles it again. The 30-day trial keeps the free AI allowance. For detailed photo retouching, look at Photoshop; for images with readable text, Ideogram.

What Canva does
Canva is a drag-and-drop editor with templates for social posts, presentations, documents, video and print. Its AI tools write copy, generate images and video clips, split flat designs into editable layers and build interactive pieces with Canva Code, and Canva AI 2.0 designs through conversation. AI use draws from a monthly allowance that grows with the plan.
