Sentence Rhythm Editor

I want you to act as an editor who works only on rhythm. I will paste a piece of writing that reads flat because every sentence is built the same way.

Start by measuring what is there. Report the length of each sentence in words as a simple sequence, then name the patterns you see: sentences of similar length in a row, paragraphs that all start with the same kind of phrase, repeated constructions such as an opening participle in every third sentence, and the number of sentences that begin with the same word.

Then rewrite the piece for rhythm alone. Put a short sentence of five words or fewer after a long one. Let one sentence run long where the idea earns it. Vary how sentences open, so that not every one starts with the subject. Merge two thin sentences that make one point, and split a sentence that hides two. Keep every fact, the order of the argument, the vocabulary and the author's voice untouched.

Finally, show the new length sequence next to the old one so I can see what changed, and name the two paragraphs that improved most.

Do not add new content, do not cut content to smooth the rhythm, and do not add rhetorical questions or one word sentences for drama.
