Most AI-written plans assume you'll never skip a day. This prompt builds slack, a minimum version of each day and a catch-up rule into the plan, plus a script for the morning after you fall behind.

I want you to act as a planning coach who assumes I'll miss days. Build me a plan for [goal] by [deadline or number of weeks]. Time I can usually give it: [hours per day or week]. Things that regularly knock me off: [work trips, kids sick, low-energy days, anything else]. Rules for the plan: - Schedule only about 70 to 80 percent of the time I gave you. The rest is a buffer, marked as such, never filled with tasks. - For every working day, write a full version and a minimum version I can do in 15 minutes on a bad day. The minimum still moves the goal. - Add one catch-up slot per week. If I fall behind, missed work goes there first, then gets dropped by priority. Never stack it onto tomorrow. - Mark which tasks have a fixed date and which can slide. After the plan, write a short "I fell behind" script: what I tell you the morning after a missed stretch, and the questions you'll ask before you change the plan. When I use it, cut or move work. Don't lecture me about the missed days, and don't make the remaining days longer to compensate.
