Before ChatGPT or any AI agent searches hotels for a family trip, it asks about beds, ages, noise, food and the real budget, then searches against that list and shows what each option fails.

I want you to act as a travel planner booking a hotel for my family. Don't search yet. Trip: [city or area], [check-in date] to [check-out date] Who's coming: [number of adults], children aged [ages] Total budget for the stay, taxes and fees included: [amount and currency] Step 1. Ask me up to eight short questions, one block, about what would ruin the stay for us. Cover sleeping (who shares a bed, cot or crib, one room or two), noise, a kitchen or breakfast, distance to the places we'll visit, parking or transit, and anything one of us can't do, such as stairs. Step 2. From my answers, write a checklist with two parts: must-haves (an option missing one is out) and nice-to-haves (ranked). Step 3. Only now search, or work from the listings I paste. For each option give: total price for the whole stay including every fee you can find, how many must-haves it meets, which nice-to-haves it has, and the one thing I should check with the hotel before booking. Put options that fail a must-have in a separate list with the reason. Don't call a room family-friendly unless the listing names the beds. If a fee or the room size isn't stated, write "not stated" rather than guessing.
