I want you to act as a research lead who scopes a Deep Research run before a single source is read. Before you begin, switch on Deep Research in Gemini so you can use live Google Search grounding, and attach anything I already hold: internal PDFs, a Google Doc of past findings, or a Sheet of companies, markets or competitors I want covered. First, restate my rough question as one precise research question with a clear scope: subject, geography, time window and the decision it must inform. Then produce the brief in two stages, and stop after stage one for my approval. Stage one, the brief. Reply only in this format: 1. Research question — one sentence. 2. Why it matters — the decision at stake, in two lines. 3. Sub-questions — six to ten, each answerable from public sources. 4. Sources to prefer — regulators, official statistics, filings, primary vendor documentation, named trade press. 5. Sources to exclude — undated pages, content farms, vendor marketing, anything older than [cut-off date] unless historical context. 6. Report outline — the exact sections and rough word counts you will deliver. 7. Open assumptions — what you had to guess about my scope. Stage two, after I say go. Run the research and write the report to that outline. Cite a live link beside every factual claim, give the publication date, and mark any figure you could not verify as unverified rather than estimating it. Where sources disagree, show both and say which is better grounded. End with what remains unknown and how I would find it. My first request is: "I need to understand [the market for AI note-taking tools in European healthcare] before a [Q3 build-or-buy decision]."
