Midjourney review: our take

Midjourney is the image generator to pay for when the look of the picture is the job. V8.2 became the default on July 24, 2026, and Midjourney says its images are bolder and that random low-quality results should be rare. V8.1 before it improved text rendering and added an HD mode. Our Midjourney prompts cover the parameters.

Basic costs $10 a month for 3.3 hours of fast GPU time and nothing else, so most regular users end up on Standard at $30, which adds unlimited Relax-mode images. Images stay public unless you pay for Pro or Mega, and there is no free trial on the website or Discord. If you need readable text in the image, look at Ideogram; for a free daily allowance with commercial rights, Leonardo.Ai.
